Scholarships
In line with its vision to leverage knowledge, learning, and other social development initiatives as catalysts for improving the lives of Filipino families and communities, the SGV Foundation continues to provide educational support to accountancy students – as it has to thousands of its scholars before.
This comes in the form of tuition fees, book allowances, and stipends both as undergraduate students and during their Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam (CPALE) review.
EY Ripples
The SGV Foundation supported the launch and implementation of EY Ripples, the EY global corporate responsibility program that aims to support the next generation and impact entrepreneurs through teaching programs and business clinics.
In cooperation with Junior Achievement Philippines (JAPI), SGV conducted a series of training workshops for SGV volunteers before conducting teaching programs in different schools in Metro Manila. In these programs, the volunteers taught 6th grade students about the basics of entrepreneurship and financial management.
The SGV Foundation also assisted the EY Ripples team in conducting business clinics for impact entrepreneurs, co-organized with Endeavor Philippines. The program, conducted by SGV volunteer partners and managers, equipped impact entrepreneurs from the fintech, production and services, and business process outsourcing industries with practical knowledge in tax and financial planning as they grow their businesses.
Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines
Ernst & Young (EY) began the Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) program in the United States in 1986 to recognize the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs with successful, growing, and dynamic businesses.
In 2003, the SGV Foundation established the EOY program in the Philippines. Since then, it has become one of the most prestigious awards programs in the local business community. The winner of the title then goes on to represent the Philippines in the World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards held internationally.
